I am not wine connoisseur but this trip into Chilean history with a delicious accompaniment was too much to resist.
At Santa Rita winery their most well-known brand of wine is called 120. It it a nod to 120 Chilean soldiers who took refuge here during the War of Independence from the Spanish. The owner, a formidable woman, took them in and offered warm beds and care overnight.
Of course, I had to try another version of Pisco Sour , served by a handsome bartender, while waiting for my winery tour to begin.
